Updates from the FSCA
FSCA would like to welcome a new club
– Bermont Shooting Club in Punta Gorda. The club has a 14 station Sporting
Clays course with covered shooting stands, 5 stand and wobble trap. They are
open Wednesday through Sunday. You should stop by and shoot if you are in the
area. They are planning to hold their first registered shoot in September.
Sporting Clays had quite a good shoot over the Fourth of July weekend with 100
shooters and more remarkably was the fact that they had 49 D & E class
shooters. It is really good to see these high participation numbers from the D
& E class shooters.
good turnout was at the recent July shoot at Quail Creek Plantation. They had
153 shooters turn out for the shoot and that was a record for them in July.
The Board of Directors of FSCA would like to recognize Roger Kershaw
for many years of service to the shooters of Florida. Roger recently resigned
from the Board for personal reasons. Roger has served on the Board of Directors
as Secretary for the past 10 years and has done an outstanding job. He was very
instrumental in getting the By-Laws updated and bringing about the online
voting. So if you see Roger out at one of the clubs in the Central Florida area
– give him a big Thank You! He deserves it.
Watch for a Florida shooter survey coming later this month – we want
